Bank Ground Farm is a family run working farm set on the Eastern shores of Coniston water, it commands uninterrupted views over Coniston Water to Coniston Village and its magnificent backdrop of Lake District fells the focal point of which is the 2635ft summit of Coniston Old Man.
We remain a working farm of some 60+ acres rearing traditional breed Aberdeen Angus cattle and Jacob sheep. The lambs around Easter time are a favourite with both children and adults alike. Sadly in 2013 we lost a high number of lambs due to the weather and pesky foxes, that we decided to do something about it. So new as of 2014 we have two lovely alpacas (Bubble and Squeak) that protect our infant lambs from hungry foxes. They have done a wonderful job, having not lost a single lamb this year, we made it to the BBC news.
If you would like to buy some of our meat please call and we can prepare your order in advance, or alternatively if you are staying with us we can deliver it to your cottage.
