The Loft Cottage (sleeps 2/4)

Situated on the East shore of Coniston Lake, with stunning vies of the lake and surrounding Coniston Fells.

Spectacular views of snow covered mountains during winterThe Loft Self catering Accommodation is surrounded by breath taking scenery and interesting places to visit in every direction. Across the lake to the west is Coniston Village, overlooked by the 2500ft summit of Coniston Old Man and surrounding fells. To the north is Tarn Hows, a famous Lake District beauty spot. To the East and adjoining Bank Ground is Grizdale forest where you could walk all day without seeing anyone. Along the lakeshore road south is Brantwood, the home of John Ruskin, the famous 19th century painter, writer and politician. The cottage is situated in the grounds of Bank Ground where Arthur Ransome wrote the famous Lake District children's story Swallows and Amazons and is therefore the ideal location from which to retrace this adventure.

On the first floor is a superb open plan living/dining room with kitchen area, high beamed ceilings, shared picnic terrace and panoramic views of Coniston Lake and the Lake District fells. 
The self catering cottage is centrally heated throughout and has all modern appliances.

Brantwood Lake District home of John RuskinBrantwood one of the most beautifully situated in the Lake District on the east shore of Coniston Water, was the home of John Ruskin from 1872 till his death in 1900. The house and grounds are open to the public all year but closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in the winter months.
